In the vibrant fabric of stories that are woven into Nueva Lengua Spanish School in Colombia, we find fascinating profiles that transcend geographical and cultural barriers. One of those students is Karlton Tate, a 24-year-old young man originally from North Carolina, whose path to the soon-to-be Yale Law School is marked by social work and his deep connection to Colombian culture.

Karlton finds himself in Colombia not only as a Spanish tourist, but as a passionate student and an individual committed to diversity. His story begins in New York, where he works with a legal entity dedicated to the protection of minorities. This purpose led him to seek cultural immersion that would strengthen his understanding of the experiences of the communities he serves.

When we asked Karlton about the connection between his work and his decision to learn Spanish in Colombia, his answer was revealing. He explained that it is not just about learning a new language, but about understanding the situations, experiences, experiences and aspirations of the different cultural groups that coexist in both the United States and Colombia. Spanish is, therefore, a powerful tool to build bridges and break barriers.

One of Karlton's personal motivations for immersing himself in the Colombian language and culture lies in his family life. His partner and his family, all Colombians who immigrated to the United States, have influenced his appreciation for Colombia's cultural richness. When you share your life with people from another culture, learning their language becomes an act of love and understanding: that's what we learned through Karlton, demonstrating that his journey is not only academic, but also deeply personal.

Karlton's decision to choose Nueva Lengua Spanish School as your learning destination was not random. He highlighted the school for its communicative approach and interactive methods, which provided him with a unique and meaningful learning experience. She wanted more than just grammar classes: she sought to immerse herself in everyday life, engage in real conversations, and understand the culture from the inside.

During his time at the school, Karlton has experienced a transformation in his ability to communicate in Spanish, and at the same time, our students are able to cultivate friendships that will last beyond the classroom. The human quality of the teachers and the welcoming atmosphere of the school make the experience exceptional.

Karlton's connection to Colombia goes beyond the classroom. He has explored the streets of Bogotá, marveled at the country's geographic diversity, and participated in cultural events that have enriched his understanding of the Colombian community.

Inquiring about his future plans, Karlton shared his excitement about entering Yale Law School and how his experience at Nueva Lengua Spanish School has been an invaluable springboard for his career. The ability to speak Spanish will open doors in her future work. Being able to understand and communicate directly with the communities you serve will strengthen your impact as a rights advocate.

En Nueva Lengua Spanish School we celebrate the diversity of our students and are proud to be part of the educational journey of individuals like Karlton. His story reflects the importance of interculturality and how learning a new language goes beyond words; It is an authentic connection with people and their stories.

In short, Karlton embodies the idea that, by crossing linguistic and cultural boundaries, we find not only a new language, but also a world of possibilities and mutual understanding. We thank Karlton for choosing us as his bridge to Spanish and we wish him every success in his future endeavors, knowing that his impact will be deep and lasting, both in the legal field and in the rich cultural fabric that is Colombia. Thanks for inspiring us, Karlton!
