Whenever we think about traveling to another country, we think about getting to know four important things: its landscapes, its people, its language, and its cultural traditions such as music and gastronomy. For this, we usually search the internet for forums or blogs where different typical dishes of the country or region are recommended in order to have an excellent experience. However, it is not always advisable to read because it is better to live the experience: try, feel different sensations and experience different flavors and emotions.

These kinds of experiences are offered at school. Nueva Lengua, Bogota headquarters, with various cultural immersion activities to try different typical Colombian dishes, from a cup of coffee to a bandeja paisa or a seafood casserole.

One of these experiences is a typical lunch from the Andean region and the capital of Colombia, Bogotá. The dish is a soup made from three types of potato, since in Colombia there is a wide variety of this food, it is also accompanied by chicken, milk cream, rice, capers, guascas and avocado. This food is known as "Ajiaco", a word used by the Castilians to talk about the soups that had chili in their preparation.

A student from Germany who is studying at the Bogotá campus, Ursula Rädier, tells us a little about her experience trying this typical dish: “I liked him a lot ajiaco because it is made of potatoes and is accompanied with avocado" further "I am a soup lover".

Likewise, she says that the combination of two different worlds, such as sweet and salty, was fascinating, since it is not common to add bananas to ajiaco or any type of soup. In relation to this, she explains the reason for this characterization: “In Germany you can see sweet-salty combinations, but they are a little more special, such as a type of baked French breaded cheese, which when cut melts like jam.” It also explains that the cheese used is Camembert cheese that can be accompanied with lettuce salad, toast or toast. At the end he adds that "I also liked the combination of flours that dishes have in Colombia because in Germany you don't usually mix potatoes with rice."
