One of the unmissable activities offered Nueva Lengua is without a doubt the panoramic tour of the center of Medellin.

So I had the opportunity to participate in this tour that allowed me to discover many interesting things about the city. In addition, it is a free activity, fully supported by the school.

The tour is supervised by one of the school's teachers who takes us around the city center showing us the important monuments and buildings, the places full of history, the beautiful squares or even the shopping areas.

For example, we were able to discover "The Alpujarras", the administrative center of Medellin. It is a huge urban complex dedicated to the administration of the department of Antioquia and the city of Medellín.

A large square separates two large buildings and houses a beautiful statue called "Monument to the Race" which was built in honor of the history of Antioquia.

The tour continues with the discovery of the Antioch Railroad (Railway of Antioquia). This is a historical railway system in Colombia. It connected Medellín with the most important river in Colombia, the Magdalena River. Unfortunately, this project could not prosper because the civil war forced the works to be paralyzed.

the teacher of Nueva Lengua also showed us the commercial areas of the center, including Carabobo Street. This is a street in Medellín that brings together small shops of all kinds. You can find anything and everything there, like clothes, food, electronic gadgets, etc. It is a very lively and very touristy street that, in my opinion, deserves a visit.

One of the highlights of this tour is undoubtedly the Plaza Botero and the visit to the Palacio de la Cultura (“Palace of Culture”).

Plaza Botero It is a large square that houses many statues of the famous Colombian sculptor Fernando Botero. I found this place particularly pretty and nice.

The visit to Culture palace It is in my opinion very interesting because of the beautiful view offered by the top floor of the palace. We thus have a panoramic view of Plaza Botero, the monuments of Medellín and the architecture of its buildings. Definitely worth going, you won't be disappointed!

This panoramic visit is also an opportunity to make friends with the other students of the school outside of class and have a good time.

Therefore, I highly recommend this tour that allowed me to learn a little more about this beautiful city and its history.
