Colombia has become one of the most visited countries lately. In 2018, a total of 660.320 foreign visitors who arrived in Colombia were recognized, according to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism. So far in 2019, it can be seen that every day more people arrive in the country for different reasons; work, go sightseeing, learn Spanish, etc. Among these, as a Colombian and a teacher of Spanish to foreigners, it has caught my attention that many have come to this country attracted by the personality of the people, because it is said that Colombians are outgoing and cheerful, in short, that they are people cool, although the general personality of a group of people may be different in each region. This is how I have seen it in each headquarters of the Spanish school Nueva Lengua.

In Bogota

The capital of the country, people have a bad reputation because it is said that they are as cold as its climate but in reality they are very friendly because when they express themselves, they can speak slowly and very clearly. In addition, because of the cold it feels, Bogotans usually welcome anyone who comes to the city to provide a little warmth. If you come to this city, you will surely be invited to a meeting in a cozy house or to some special place for coffee or a canelazo and warm up with a good story or discussion of a topic. Many of the School's students have participated in coffee tastings to learn about the coffee culture and also to share a pleasant time with Colombian baristas and professors.

In Medellin

The city of eternal spring, it is considered that people are so happy that they transmit the color of the flowers of their fields. In this city, you can smile at all times and feel the care that people have for each other. There they will welcome you like a partner and you will feel rigged here. Students who have made volunteering with the School Nueva Lengua In order to get closer to the locals and the social reality of the city, they have commented that they feel very connected and welcomed by all the people with whom they speak

In Cartagena

In Cartagena, a city that for its joy is considered one of the most touristy in Colombia, the people are usually very warm and calm, but many are well revelers, because in the day it is too hot to stress and the party is very significant and it is part of their Afro-Colombian identity. Also, even though everyone is yelling and talking loudly, people love to receive tourists and have conversations with them, so you will laugh a lot with their cock bottle. Visit this city and feel in the summer holidays while you study Spanish, because to learn Spanish you don't need to be alone in the classroom, but you also need to interact with other people, and why not do it through dance, an international language? In Cartagena the joy never stops.

Exploring a culture does not consist only of visiting the tourist sites that are recommended in a place, this exploration can be done by interacting with the local people of the same. Spanish school Nueva Lengua It gives the opportunity to learn Spanish as a means of getting closer to people in three different places (Bogotá, Medellín and Cartagena). It is worth taking a tour of these three wonderful and different cities while you learn Spanish and get closer to the Colombian culture. In general, although they are three different cities, you will realize that they all share the same joy and charisma that represents the Colombian with their traditions and their way of seeing the world.
