Thomas

I had a great week at Language School Nueva Lengua. It is located in a nice student area in the center of Bogotá. You meet a lot of nice people. The other language students came from all kinds of countries and they were all interesting because some of them, for example, also had a longer journey ahead of them. In addition, they came from all age groups.

I was there for a week to improve my Spanish for my Cartagena bike tour. That worked. The teachers and classes there are very good, and the atmosphere is always relaxed. People are friendly and helpful. I stayed with a host family. Quite effective, because that means you have to speak Spanish all the time, but also exhausting. You also get a good idea of normal life in Bogotá. However, a week of language school is quite short. It would be better to occupy at least two weeks.

I especially liked that my teachers, Maricela and Carlos, tried to teach not only Spanish but also Colombia. That means you also learn something about history and about social and political issues. This also includes the cultural support program, as in my case, a small dance class and a trip to the Salt Cathedral.

I felt I was in good hands at school. The week ended too quickly and in the end I was reluctant to leave.
But he also had something to do...
