Guaduas, a town of natural attractions, history and culture.

Territory of cultural contrasts, its slopes provided the encounters between the conquerors, Spanish merchants and indigenous people of the Panche culture. Just three hours from Bogotá, in the west, is located the Villa de San Miguel de Guaduas, the third largest municipality in Cundinamarca and considered one of the heritage towns of Colombia, since through its beautiful streets and landscapes it has been built part of the National history. Founded in 1572 by Mr. Andrés Díaz Venero de Leyva, it has become, since its foundation, an obligatory step in national commerce. Their cobbled streets or “Royal Roads”, palisade paths that run along the slopes of their mountains and through which cargo was transported on its way to the interior of the country, today replaced by the Ruta de Sol, give an account of this.

This Villa of the Spanish Viceroys was not alien to the independence revolutionary history. Its houses and squares, which preserve the colonial architecture, tell the story of Policarpa Salavarrieta, heroine martyr of Colombian independence.

Just three kilometers from the road that leads to Honda is Piedra Capira, an immense rock where you can see the beautiful landscape of the eastern and central mountain ranges, the Magdalena River canyon and in the distance, on clear days, the snow-capped Santa Isabel, Tolima and del Ruiz.

The pride of its inhabitants is the Salto de Versalles, formed with waters from the San Francisco, El Guadual and Limonar rivers and one of the main waterfalls in the country, due to its size and majesty. It is part of the natural landscape of Nueva Lengua, creating an environment, together with the songs of the birds and the richness of its biodiversity, of relaxation and peace conducive to learning Spanish and living with the community.
