My name is David, I am 22 years old and it is my eighth day in language school Nueva Lengua here in Cartagena, Colombia.

To school:

The school is located in Barrio Getsemani, one of the oldest parts of the city, in a small street very close to Plaza Trinidad and about 10 minutes from Centro, the old town. In my first week of school, the class consisted of myself, 2 other students, and the teacher. This size allows for great lessons, as you are forced to do a lot of talking yourself. Of the 4 hours a day, around 2 are for theory and 2 for conversation, the hours are intensive but you can see the progress made. The teachers are friendly and engaged and always seem to be in a good mood.

"Good morning David" followed by a big smile is the morning greeting. Excursions and additional activities are offered 3 afternoons a week. On Wednesdays, this is a free dance lesson, which you can use here! All in all, the school offers a pleasant and familiar environment in which to learn Spanish.

All the articles in this blog have been written by the teachers of our school and by students from different countries who traveled to Colombia to learn Spanish.
