When a person graduates from high school, the normal thing is to start later higher studies (University or Technical), however it may be the case that someone decides to take some time to rest before going to university and Steven Woodyard, a boy from the United States. Unidos is an example of that. His decision was not to stay at home sleeping, watching television or spending all day on Facebook or Instagram, his decision was to travel, and within his plans he had long known Colombia.

Before coming to Colombia Steven lived for a year in Costa Rica and there he finished school at the age of eighteen but he did not want to start the University immediately but to take a sabbatical year and travel. He decided to come to South America for the first time, starting with Colombia to meet her and at the same time learn Spanish.

The first Colombian city to visit was Cartagena and there Steven spent three weeks in our school and for a long time he wanted to come to this Caribbean city because it seemed like an interesting place, in addition to that in Costa Rica, he met many Colombians and that further fueled his desire to come and explore the country .

Before arriving in Cartagena, Steven had many good expectations about the school and says that they were fulfilled because he felt like family. He also comments that the people in the Nueva Lengua School is very kind, cool and hospitable, and that the teachers are very good. She found Cartagena very beautiful, she really liked Castillo San Felipe, the Historic Center and she says that she went to Parque Centenario, located approximately five minutes walking from the school and from that place, she loved seeing iguanas, sloths and that it is a good place to take shelter from the sun and cool off since the trees offer good shade. Now Steven continues his trip in Medellin and also his learning of Spanish in our school there, he is very happy for the good time he had in Cartagena and he is sure that in Medellin he will have a great time.

All the articles in this blog have been written by the teachers of our school and by students from different countries who traveled to Colombia to learn Spanish.
