Studying abroad is a decision that changes the perspective of many, since the experiences that are acquired when being in a new environment make each moment of this experience a great learning experience, and although most students make this trip alone, the doing it in company brings great benefits.

Lisa and Bob are an American couple and they tell us what it was like for them study spanish together and his experience in Medellin. Get to know the testimony of this couple and be encouraged to come to Medellín and study Spanish with us.

Lisa and Bob are very special students of Nueva Lengua who came from Arizona in the United States recommended by a couple of friends of theirs who also studied together here at our school Nueva lengua last year. They tell us that the best thing about studying in pairs was the fact of having the support of the other, that when one did not understand something the other clarified and helped him and vice versa. It is not the first time that Lisa and Bob study as a couple, they had already done it two years ago in Ecuador and last year in Guatemala. This time they chose Medellin and they loved it. This is what they tell us about this beautiful city.

What did you think of Medellín?

We heard from different people that Medellín was a beautiful city and we wanted to see it with our own eyes. We have been trying to learn Spanish for a while in Ecuador and Guatemala and now it was time to get to know Medellín.
This city has amazing nature, I really love its trees, says Lisa, and its greenery, it's incredibly green, adds Bob. There are always very interesting things to do here.

How did you feel about safety here in Medellín?

We felt quite safe, although we already hoped that it would be so because of all the people we had talked to before we came and all the things they had told us.

How was your experience in Nueva Lengua?

We loved the school very much, it is a place with a very friendly atmosphere. Our teachers were wonderful, we also liked the facilities, we felt at home, all the people from Nueva lengua They are very nice and very friendly.

How was the experience of studying with much younger people?

Oh! That was really one of the best things, we really wouldn't have liked studying with older people. Learning another language with younger students made everything more lively, refreshing, and fun. Sharing with people of different cultures and ages was a very enriching experience.

Will they repeat this process?

Sure we do, we don't have a plan yet, but we definitely want to take Spanish classes again, it was a fascinating experience.

Adjusting to a new culture, environment, and language may take a little time, but being with someone you already know makes this process easier, as you can support each other during the adaptation phase. Likewise, when studying Spanish, you will be able to support each other in homework, and in classes, and even practice speaking Spanish with each other and thus achieve greater learning.

Doing school activities or going out to explore the city with your partner will make this experience even better. Go ahead and live this fascinating adventure with your partner or with your best friend. Medellín awaits you.
