Approximately once a month, the Spanish school Nueva Lengua organize a joint meal before the cooking class. He was able to convince Julián, one of the organizers, to organize this week's event so that he could attend before returning to Ecuador. They all prepare food from their own country. Normally the students (sometimes together with some teachers) go out to eat some lunch at one of the nearby restaurants, so it was a good opportunity to break the routine a bit.

Naturally, I immediately went looking for pitas and chickpeas, but they turned out to be hard to find, so I opted for a chopped Arabic salad: tomatoes, onions, cucumber, a bit of parsley, and lots of lemon. If you have ever been shopping in Colombia, you already know that olive oil is expensive here in Ramot. Fortunately, my kitchen in Nueva Lengua It has salt, pepper, olive oil, really everything I need.

As for the other dishes: there were a lot of French students so we ate full of bread, cheese and olives. The teachers also donated “Tamales”, a “Colombian” soft drink. Do not believe the stories of Colombians, it is like Inca cola (and Kokura) a kind of dessert with coconut. Only a few German beers were missing! We explained our dishes to them one by one, but the truth is that we were hungry and starting to get tired so we just started eating.

If you're a backpacker in South America who wants to save money, you typically eat one of three Latin delicacies: arroz con pollo, arroz con carne, or arroz con fish. If you want to get a little wild, then eat pizza. It was a chance to finally eat something more familiar: cheeses, salads, pickles and, of course, olive oil.
