For 7 years I lived in London, and I have always been in contact with several colombians living there, included my ex boss, who is from Armenia, a city in the heart of the coffee region.

All the colombian people I met they had something in common: they are really hard workers!

Years later I came to Colombia and started travelling around the country and to be in contact with colombians of every age and cultural status and I noticeed something that all of them are sharing: they are seriously very dedicated and hard workers!

But what do I mean when I say so?

Well, I have been lucky enough to meet people with fairly good positions and therefore a good salary. Definetly they have been lucky enough to have several opportunities in life and, also, lucky enough to have a job that allow them to keep a good lifestyle.

In the other hand, I also met colombians that came from a less lucky background, forced to struggle daily in order to carry on with their lives, and fighiting for their kids’ education. But no matter what, they got up every morning at 5 o’clock ready to work. Selling chocolate, empanadas, arepas, clothes or cleaning somebody’s house. No matter what kind of job they would do or how much they would get, they would all work, very hard, and manage to make their living.

But, what do colombians have, to be all so successful in what they do?

They are energetic

Energetic people are curious, observant, and always want to make the difference. They aren’t happy to sit and wait to be told what to do, they just take their own initiative and go for it! And trust me, colombians spread energy from everywhere! <img draggable="false" role="img" class="emoji" alt="" src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/13.1.0/svg/1f642.svg">

They are full of resources

Always on the look out for problems to solve, and experimenting new ways in order to, always, find that solution! They are so good at it that they can find a solution for literally everything!

They are also quick learner

If I have to select something specific where they really always succed that would be at selling! If the skill of selling and be multitasking could be spotted in our DNA, for sure colombians would have them both!

They are friendly

“Never forget: life is about people. Business is about people. It’s all just about people. When you forget that, you are jeopardizing your business, and even worse, you may fail as a person”

Colombians are known worldwide to be one of the most friendly people in the world! This could be the reason why they are so successful in any job they do!

Today is "Dia del Trabajador" (World Labor Day) and I want to celebrate and dedicate this day to each one of them. And I wish everyone can learn from colombians how to be better workers and, especially, better people.
