Italian cuisine of honor that is appreciated, of any nationality! Of course, Italian is always on top, and Colombians with us love and revere it, but it must be recognized that Colombian cuisine is no exception.

One of the good reasons to to study in Nueva Lengua is that you not only learn Spanish, but also you learn colombian cuisine!

In fact, every week a cooking lesson is organized, and every week the menu changes!

But what are these Colombian dishes and what are they called?

First of all we have the Ajiaco. It is a potato and chicken based soup typical of Bogotá. It is prepared with three different types of potatoes that are practically impossible to find in Italy, one of these is the Creole potato, typical of Colombia, difficult to find in other countries. Perhaps in Spain, specifically in the Canary Islands, there is a similar quality: they are small potatoes, inside they are bright yellow and when they are cooked they almost melt in your mouth!

Then an herb similar to spinach is added, but with a completely different flavor, it is called Gusca and is not found in Italy.

Once ready, add a piece of corn on the cob, a slice of avocado and a little cream (similar to cream). A sprinkling of capers on top is to die for!

The process is long, but cooking class with Nueva Lengua you will learn the recipe easily!

Other delicacies that you learn to cook are: empanadas (I bet you're dying to learn and eat them right away!!), arepas in all its variations, rice pudding, banana with a sandwich (it would be cooked banana with cheese on top, it sounds bad, but I I assure you that it is a delight!!) and much more!

I will not reveal all the recipes because I want to surprise you to discover and cook each dish when you study at the Spanish School Nueva Lengua!

Oh, I forgot!

The best part? You just eat everything at the end! 🙂
