Four months have passed since I returned from Colombia. Four long months of nostalgia. It's simple: I miss Colombia. I miss its crazy parties, its landscapes and the kindness of its inhabitants. Even I miss Bogota where I stayed for almost two months. The red brick buildings of this gigantic capital are not worth the architecture of Paris, of course. Traffic is hell. Public transport is terrifying: 2 million people take the transmilenio daily. You literally have to fight to get on the bus. But the people of Bogotá are always smiling and friendly, and that's good! It is an energetic city where life is good!
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't “afraid” when I canceled my plane ticket back to France. My friends and family were asking me to come home and be "reasonable." I decided to listen to that little voice inside that told me to stay. I don't regret my decision at all. I discovered a country that I fell in love with.
And it is today that I am going to know if I have imbued myself with enough Colombian optimism. Will I be able to keep a positive attitude about the results of the American elections?
LONG LIVE COLOMBIA !!!!
