In Machetá, a municipality in the department of Cundinamarca in Colombia, are the beautiful Nápoles Hot Springs. In addition to its natural beauty, this place is famous for the relaxing and therapeutic experiences it offers its visitors: exfoliations with volcanic mud, tuco bath, and three natural pools with different temperatures in each one, ideal for any taste and preference.
This time, the Spanish school Nueva Lengua visited the Nápoles de Machetá Hot Springs with students from the United States, Belgium, Germany, England and Russia, who witnessed that Colombia never ceases to amaze with the richness of its lands.

The first thing we did when we arrived at this place was to learn what a hot spring is; In case you didn't know, it is a very particular kind of birth. Unlike ordinary springs, the water that emerges from the hot springs does not come from the mountains but from the depths of the Earth. And it is that, in addition to the rivers that we all know, our planet has underground channels through which water runs hundreds and thousands of meters below the surface. When going through such depths, these waters come into contact with magma and volcanic stones, thus taking very high temperatures, thus emerging as natural sources of hot water.
Thanks to the number of stones with which they come into contact during their journey, the hot springs are loaded with many minerals, which, when they come into contact with our skin, exfoliate, soothe and relax it. Also, when it comes to complications and muscle pain, these waters come to relieve pain due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
The students with whom we attend the Nápoles Hot Springs are taking their Spanish classes at the school headquarters Nueva Lengua from Bogotá, one of the largest metropolises in Latin America with almost 10 million inhabitants. For this reason, in addition to the benefits offered by its medicinal properties, the hot springs are, without a doubt, spaces for relaxation and tranquility amid the noise and hustle and bustle of the city. In this way, the main objective of coming with them was to have a different atmosphere and to be able to disconnect from everything for a few hours. And of course: practice our Spanish! There we played, chatted, relaxed, ate, and filled with the tranquility to speak with local people fluently and confidently.

Nueva Lengua It is your place to learn Spanish from trained professional teachers... but it is also much more than that. Our main objective is for students to come into contact and interact in various immersive cultural learning environments, and this does not remain on paper. Through our weekly cultural activities, we have the opportunity to practice the language while discovering the natural wonders that Colombia has to offer.

Come, relax, and discover Colombia learning Spanish with Nueva Lengua.
