Brazilian journalist and writer Luiz Carlos Ladeia came to our headquarters in Bogota Nueva Lengua for to learn Spanish and enjoy the city.

He gave us three of his books: Logs Loose in WaterYou Christians of Magdalena Rios When the ballot boxes say.

In addition, he granted us a interview where he told us about the motivation that inspires him to write, the creative process of his books and his interest in learning Spanish.

Your book You Christians of Magdalena Rios It is about a woman of Mapuche origin who travels through America in search of her husband, who had bought a fishing boat and, due to a tsunami, disappeared into the sea. The protagonist (Magdalena), disguises herself as a Franciscan Missionary and travels across America in fishing boats, leaving sacred images at sea in the hope that they will reach her missing husband.
Logs Loose in Water It is about one of the history of Juvenal, a young man who was in jail for denouncing the injustices that he saw around him. The story takes place in the town where his social conscience was awakened: Boca do Río. There he returns when he gets out of jail. It is a story that reflects the social conscience of the author and outlines the political reality of Brazil.

When the ballot boxes say It is a book designed for political candidates, as it points out the errors that must be avoided if an electoral victory is to be achieved.

All the articles in this blog have been written by the teachers of our school and by students from different countries who traveled to Colombia to learn Spanish.
