In this opportunity we will talk about the experience of a student with a big heart and simplicity, she is gulsum, from Türkiye, intelligent and beautiful woman who wants to study Modern languages in a different country than hers. After several plans in her head, one day she made the decision to come to Colombia, specifically to Bogota,, since he had heard that Bogotá was one of the cities with the best Spanish accent in Latin America, so he organized everything and in March he took his suitcase and came to the Colombian capital.

Realizing that this city offered him a variety of activities, but at the same time a tranquility of leading life that he inadvertently expected, he made the decision to learn Spanish in depth and that's when he contacted us at the Nueva Lengua School.

So since October of this year he has been with us learning our beautiful language to live better here and to begin his university studies in Modern Languages. I remember that when she started she was very nervous about speaking or expressing herself for fear of making mistakes, but thanks to the method of the classes, the extra activities we do at school such as volunteering, dance classes, cooking classes, excursions, bike tours Among others, Gulsum has made significant progress, since he started at a beginner level and due to his motivation and desire to be able to express his feelings, he has advanced remarkably with the help of his teachers and his new friends.

Gulsum tells us a little about what he likes the most about living in Bogotá:

¨The people in general, their education, their kindness, and their warmth¨ He also tells us that the city's climate seems perfect, neither too cold nor too hot.

¿Why do you see an even country in Colombiavivir?

¨Because I feel good here, because people on the street can always help me without any problem, despite being foreigners I receive good treatment from people without arrogance as in other countries. For example, although Colombia is an almost completely Catholic country and I am Muslim, I do not feel any rejection or bad treatment from anyone¨ she also tells us that sometimes people look at her a lot for the use of their * ¨hiyab¨, however when someone asks him about his religion he does it with courtesy and respect unlike his experience in other countries.

And speaking of friends, he expresses that he still does not have as many friends as he would like, however, the few he does have are very friendly and he exchanges and shares many things with them, especially cultural ones. Gulsum has found that it is very easy to get into a relationship with anyone, and she feels that each time she will be able to increase the number of friends.

Apart from to learn Spanish, and spending time with friends, Gulsum likes to walk on Sundays through the streets and parks of Bogotá and enjoys nature, he has also explored other places of different nationalities located in the capital, for example, the Japanese market, restaurants Turks, Venezuelans, Mexicans and Italians, he likes Colombia very much, but he says that getting to know a little about other countries within it seems very interesting to him.

With this story we can realize that Gulum is delighted living in Colombia, and wants to invite you also to come here so that you can enjoy a beautiful experience like the one she is living.

¨Coming to Colombia helps you to see life in a different way¨, dare to live it too !!!
