Julia is a German who accompanied us for three weeks at the school of Nueva Lengua from Cartagena and here he left us his impressions of this trip:

“I am Julia Henzler, I am from Berlin, Germany. This is my third trip to Latin America; the first time was two years ago in Mexico and last year I visited Cuba. I started studying Spanish in a language school in my country and I decided to come to Colombia because I had heard many beautiful things about this beautiful country.

When I arrive to Nueva lengua I found a very cool place; I felt like family, in a very nice place, where I not only learned Spanish, but there were also activities in the afternoon that allowed me to learn much more about Colombian culture. The school offers students to volunteer with the children of Gethsemane, which I thought was very good for the children and for the neighborhood.

I am a German and English teacher in my country. I work exactly with refugee children from Syria and from other North African countries. My students are a bit difficult, they have serious learning and behavior problems. Thanks to the help of a school teacher, I had the opportunity to go for 4 days to a school for poor children in Cartagena. I was pleasantly surprised, I really enjoyed the children who were very kind, respectful, loving and cordial with me.

From this experience I sent many photos and videos to my family, my friends, colleagues and my students in Germany.

I was studying for three weeks in Nueva lengua and I feel that I am ready to return, not only to continue with my Spanish studies, but to continue knowing much more about Colombian culture. "

Just like her, you can live a unique experience in our school and our country. Come and study with us. Sign up for Nueva Lengua
