Chronicle of an outing with our students.

The list for this walk: a young Italian couple: Antonella and Carlo, who have visited several cities and are perfecting their Spanish; Also going is Eder Oliveira, a young man from Brazil who is in the city to improve his Spanish, as he needs it to work. Also goes a group of 6 young people of a high School from Las Vegas, and two Englishmen who joined this adventure organized by NUEVA LENGUA.

La partida

The departure was at 7:30 in the morning, from Nueva Lengua Medellin.

First we met Marinilla, then we walked through the new town of Peñol, we went up to one of the batholiths (stone) oldest on the planet, we had lunch as typical mountaineers did and took a tour of the reservoir by boat. We finally walked through Guatapé and had coffee in one of the stores and returned to talk about our experience.

When observing the shapes and colors, we see a beautiful landscape full of contrasts for the carrot, tomato, chili pepper, lettuce, cabbage, coriander, onion, corn or pea crops, pastures, bushes and forests.First stop: Marinilla.

It is a small town that was populated by the first paisas (people who were born in Antioquia), whose characteristics are simplicity, hospitality, strength and work. The inhabitants of Marinilla are characterized by their love of work and commercial activities.

We walked and toured the town. First the main square where all the government buildings and a church that is two centuries old are located and in front a statue, made in bronze, of Simón Bolívar.

At our next stop, we climb a giant stone and then have lunch in the style of the mountaineers (typical inhabitants of this region). The typical dish is called Bandeja Paisa and it has: beans, rice, avocado, pork rinds, meat, banana, arepa and chorizo.
