It is a reality that women are statistically traveling much more than men. Globalization, the new work dynamics that allow you to work online without having to be in an office influence this phenomenon is on the rise and according to statistics women are the leaders at this time. Every time in our school we observe how they travel alone or with someone.

Michelle she is a political science student at princeon university in the united states and is about to finish her master's degree in international relations. For some time now, she has been hearing a lot of Spanish in the United States, and especially the Spanish of Colombians. That neutral accent was one of her motivations for inclining to visit Colombia together with her friend Alexandra. She says that what she liked the most was the city of Medellin because of its energy, nature and the super friendly people that she met in the city and in the Nueva Lengua School. Consider that traveling only with knowledge of the English language is possible but it is not enough to travel comfortably and be able to learn more about the culture. Regarding security, she affirms that it was not a problem for her because she has been in various countries and is always very precarious, as she did in Colombia as she has done in other parts of the world.

On the other hand we have Alexandra, Michelle's friend and master's student with a focus on politics and public health. She is from Philadelphia, United States and she confesses that she came to Colombia because her friend Michelle convinced her to go to an unusual country for them and without such a strong accent. After some searching and advice from friends who recommended them Nueva Lengua they arrived in Medellín. We asked her what she liked the most about traveling through Colombia and she answered us: The variety of experiences she has had here because she not only had the opportunity to visit Medellín but also other cities such as beautiful Cartagena, Salento, Jardín among others. The mountains, the biodiversity, the beach, the villages, the coffee stories are wonderful attractions.

All the articles in this blog have been written by the teachers of our school and by students from different countries who traveled to Colombia to learn Spanish.
