Many have asked us what is the story of Luke our pet in the Medellin school. Well, today I am going to tell you that this dog is originally a Rolo, which means that he is from Bogotá and from there we brought him by plane to our school in Medellín.

On January 28, 2015 in front of our Spanish school in Bogotá there was this dog with his tender gaze waving his tail to everyone who entered the school. At first I thought it was someone's dog that was there, although it was very dirty and you could see its very marked ribs. The dog took a nap all morning and at noon we offered him soup with the help of the teachers who generously made their donation. After the soup the dog took a breath and got up to lie down again, clearly he was very tired and did not want to do anything other than sleep. We asked who the dog was from and the street vendors didn't know, they just said that it had gotten there. The afternoon came and I called my best friend Francis who when she saw the photo was filled with tenderness and went for him to take him to a veterinarian and have him take a bath along with some exams. After a couple of days we verified that the dog was in better condition and additionally that it did not have any serious problems. He did not have a chip on his body and we began to take photos of him that were posted on different social networks in search of his owner.

Our dear four-legged friend couldn't stay at the vet all the time and so I offered my house as a home for a couple of weeks while we found his family or started an adoption process. But after a week the vet gave us news that complicated things and that is that according to the tests the dog had a degenerative disease called canine osteoarthritis.

3 weeks passed and we did not hear from his family so we put him up for adoption and many people called, however when we told them about his special condition due to osteoarthritis they gave up on starting a process to adopt him because the expenses of food and medicine make his maintenance be a little more expensive than normal. Well, 3, 4 and 5 months passed and I realized that Luke, as my friend Francis called him, had not come to school without a reason, I realized that he had chosen us as his family. And that's how this love dog was born.

Around October 2015 I moved to the city of Medellín and our boss Pedro accepted the idea of ​​having a pet in the house since it is a place with a large garden, a swimming pool, a beautiful park in front of the school.

Today Luke's illness is progressing satisfactorily and the love he receives from the students makes him the ideal company for them. He receives gifts and greetings from many parts of the world, I have been offered to take him to Switzerland, Germany, the United States among other countries and the truth is that school without him would not be the same and well I confess that my life without him would not be the same .

There are many stories with him, students who ask for a class in the garden to be with him because they also have a pet at home and Luke brings them a little closer to the feeling of being close to that dog that they had to leave because of their dream of traveling.
