I opted for a 03-week training course and the initial plan was the Colombian coast – Cartagena.
I thought better of it and chose the metropolis of Bogotá, I needed to study and avoid distractions among the innumerable leisure options.
One Sunday afternoon I arrived at El Dorado airport and took a taxi to the Chicó neighborhood, where I would meet the family that would receive me.
Impossible better reception. Colombians are very receptive, and if you have read this, do not think that we agree, it is very true.
He always had classes in the morning and divided the afternoon between homework (which he didn't know for a long time) and getting to know the city, after all, he was on vacation.
I am a fan of the city…..and I loved Bogota.
In particular, I hadn't set foot anywhere with such organized addresses… where any lost person can be easily located, even without GPS, which thankfully isn't a “mandatory” item there.
During my stay I was only 03 blocks from Parque de la 93, and if you have the opportunity to get to know the region, I think you will agree that it is sensational. Bars, cafes, restaurants and nightclubs for all tastes and pockets.
The cuisine is fantastic and cheap: BBC, Crepes & Waffles, Arepas and more arepas along Calles were part of everyday life.
Before boarding I remember that I told a friend that I was going to stay away from home for 03 weeks and that it was a long time to get to know Bogotá – I was wrong, the 03 weeks were very fast and there is much more to visit and live there.
If you are considering studying there, good luck!
