Visiting the center of Santafé de Bogotá is an encounter with the history and culture of more than five hundred years of the capital of Colombia, since the conquest made by Don Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada, whose mausoleum is located in the chapel of Santa Isabel de Hungary in the Primada Cathedral located in the central Plaza de Bolívar, until the contemplation of the pictorial and sculptural work of Fernando Botero, our most famous artistic representative worldwide.
Enjoying a tour of the Candelaria neighborhood discovering the characters and places that have marked our national life is a trip full of details that surprise national and foreign visitors.
One of those places is the Botero Museum that the master Fernando Botero donated to the Banco de la República an art collection with 208 works, 123 of his own authorship and 85 by international artists.
In addition, from our home we can contemplate with the improvements made to the first version of Google Art Project and the inclusion of new countries and galleries - within which Colombia is counted - art lovers around the world can now know and enjoy the national artistic creations: 105 works from the Botero Museum and 128 from the Banco de la República's Gold Museum. In order to create a rapprochement between art and as many people as possible around the world, a large number of pieces from Latin American museums have been incorporated: more than 1.200 works exhibited in 10 museums in 5 countries.
If you are interested in knowing the work of Fernando Botero in this magnificent Museum, Nueva Lengua accompanies you to explore it.
