Misty Parker came to Cartagena in search of new adventures, this city being her starting point for her trip through South America. During this trip, she decided to learn Spanish as a way to challenge herself, since it is the first time that she has studied a foreign language and at the same time knowing that it would be a good opportunity to get to know the people of the city better, in addition to providing better opportunities. the fact of knowing more than one language.
Below he tells us a little about his experience in Nueva Lengua Cartagena:
I signed up for the Nueva Lengua in Cartagena for four weeks of group and family classes. Regarding enrollment, I have received all the information I needed to get to the city, to get to my family's house and to start classes. I believe that the placement test that the school provides on the first day was a fair way to determine my Spanish skills, and I think they put me in the appropriate class (the school offers different classes based on the level of Spanish skills you have at his arrival). My teacher, Yasmin, has been wonderful. I have a master's degree and have had many teachers over the years, but I would easily put Yasmin at the top of my “best teachers” list. The staff of Nueva Lengua he is polite, friendly and funny. Each week, there is a list of group activities that provides many options for socializing among students, learning about the rich history of the city, and enjoying the various entertainment options the region has to offer. During my time of study, the people have been students from 19 to 68 years of age, and this contrast in ages and experiences was a great opportunity to interact with people that you normally could not get to know. My homestay experience was pretty good. The location in a middle class residential neighborhood was a pleasant 20 minute walk to school. The family has been nothing but friendly and helpful, and the cooked foods (I chose to have breakfast and dinner at my homestay) have been plentiful and delicious.
Anyway, I have had a wonderful experience in Nueva Lengua and I would recommend to anyone who wants to learn Spanish in a challenging, fun and diverse environment.
