Medellín is one of the most acclaimed cities in Latin America today. Founded among the mountains in the western part of the country, in Medellín the beauty of the coffee landscapes is integrated with the best of a modern metropolis. Its nature, its culture, its festivals and its gastronomy make this city an unmissable tourist destination during your stay in Colombia.
In Spanish school Nueva Lengua We seek that our students obtain a comprehensive cultural experience: with the best of urban and rural, night tourism and cultural tourism. For this reason, at our headquarters in Medellín we organize tours to Guatapé, a town located less than two hours from the city, which has some of the most important tourist attractions in the region. Here we tell you how it went on our most recent visit.
The tour began at 6 am in El Poblado Park, the city's central point of culture, where we met students from England, Brazil, Germany, Switzerland, the United States, Turkey, and France. From there we left for the town of Guarne and we had the pleasure of eat breakfast like locals: with rice, scrambled eggs, beans, arepa, chocolate and orange juice.
Our first stop in Guatapé was the imposing Piedra del Peñol, a gigantic monolith over 200 meters high that is climbed through a path of stairs with 715 steps. Not bad for exercising after that tremendous breakfast, right?

Upon reaching the top, we contemplate one of the most beautiful landscapes in Colombia: a reservoir of more than 2.000 hectares, full of small islands, with thousands of boats and boats for all kinds of water activities. For Mert Guner, a student from Turkey, “this view gives a lot of peace and rest, and it is one of the best I have seen”. And not to mention the delicious micheladas that we take to recover from the climb.

We ate, walked, learned, practiced Spanish, and immersed ourselves in the culture of this beautiful region of Colombia. Undoubtedly, a perfect weekend plan for students of Nueva Lengua in Medellin.

Live an immersive cultural experience through nature, music and gastronomy while you learn Spanish in the heart of Colombia. Check the plans that we have for you in Medellín, or write to us at info@nuevalengua.com for more information about our Spanish classes in the City of Eternal Spring.
