Jessica Watts a cute Australian student who arrived in Colombia without knowing any Spanish, literally zero. She moved to Colombia after finishing her master's degree in London, she came to Colombia because my boyfriend lived in Bogotá and she thought it would also be a good opportunity to find work for her in the humanitarian sector.

She started studying at Nueva Lengua School from his first week in Bogota,. She did a few weeks of intensive Spanish (starting at level A1) from this almost a year ago, and has just finished a series of private classes (at level C2)

When we asked Jess to tell us in one sentence, what has been Nueva Lengua for her, she answered the following: ¨The classes in Nueva Lengua They gave me the confidence to embrace my new life in Colombia, and to get a position with the United Nations where I am working with the response to refugees and migrants from Venezuela.

Since learned spanish He has been able to travel to almost every corner of Colombia, to meet a great variety of culture and people. Colombia is a country with many realities and being able to communicate in Spanish with people from so many places was very important and satisfying for her. In her position at UNHCR, she has managed to improve her Spanish much more and she has also had the opportunity to travel to the border to better understand the situation of Venezuelans who cross into Colombia to achieve a better quality of life. The opportunity to talk to so many people in that place with so many situations has been something very powerful for her.

And to finish we want to refer to this blog: Jess got married in Cartagena! She and her boyfriend had a wonderful wedding, her family and friends came from Australia and England, therefore, such a beautiful wedding was celebrated in Spanish and the vows were in Spanish… Long live the bride and groom!

Dare yourself to live a unique experience in Colombia!

Come and embrace a new life!
