After a week of hard study and Spanish courses, the weekend in Bogotá has arrived. And in Nueva Lengua until the weekend is a good time to meet, Practice Spanish and have fun. How? With a trip to the hot springs!

This Saturday, despite the rumba night on Friday, we were (almost) all present at 9.30 am for the roll call to leave, towards Machetá!

The small town is located about 60 km from Bogotá, and the scenery offered by mother nature is spectacular!

We arrive at the small town of Machetá after an hour and a half of travel and take a walk through the quiet streets of the town, until we reach the majestic cathedral.

Thanks to the “guavabo” from the night before, we are all hungry, very hungry, and we found a restaurant in the middle of nature, with wooden tables and excellent cuisine!

They bring us a basket with four different types of meat: churrasco, pork rinds, black pudding and chorizo. All accompanied by potatoes with chili and delicious cheese arepas!

Now that we have a full stomach, we are ready to relax in the warmth of the Machatá hot springs!

The water is very hot, and from time to time we go out to take a cold shower and then we go back to the water in the heat!

Then come back out of the water to relax a bit in the sauna, or steam room, as they call it here.

This is a great way to practice Spanish outside of the classroom!

After two hours of relaxation in the pool, Turkish bath and cold showers, it's time to get dressed and go home, but not before drinking a delicious freshly squeezed orange juice!

Una Of the many reasons why I like to study at Nueva Lengua it is precisely this: discover hidden places in the country and have the opportunity to practice Spanish!
