For those of you who are thinking of study spanish in colombia, welcome to Nueva Lengua! In this first post I tell you a little about the experiences I had, why I chose this school and why I recommend it.

First of all, living and living in Colombia was an excellent surprise. Very friendly and welcoming people, good food, good quality of life, wonderful places to visit and without spending too much. In addition to the fact that it is well worth knowing the country, Colombian Spanish is very easy to understand, even for those who have never had contact with the language before, I speak from experience….

Speaking of language studies, I chose Nueva Lengua after visiting 5 others Spanish schools for foreigners and, without a doubt, it was the best in many aspects: space, organization, infrastructure, activities, service and value for money. The teachers and staff are totally helpful and prepared to facilitate and help their students' stay when necessary. I didn't have any difficulties and I was always very well guided by them. In addition, many free activities are offered such as cultural bike tours, dance classes and typical food, tejo games (typical Colombian sport), museum tours, as well as paid activities such as a tour of the Salt Cathedral in Zipaquirá, horseback riding, rafting , private music and dance classes, or a relaxing day in the thermal pools of Machetá.

Most important of all is the interaction provided between students and society, facilitating and optimizing learning in the classroom. It is worth mentioning that the activities mentioned above are related to Nueva Lengua located in Bogota, since there are two others, one in Medellin and one in Cartagena. They all offer extracurricular activities.

What every exchange student seeks is to have security and confidence in the chosen country to be able to enjoy and learn to the fullest, after all, most of the time they are alone, far from home, living another culture and lifestyle, with totally unknown. I can honestly say that I enjoyed every moment, I am very satisfied with the choice of learn spanish in colombia and, above all, with having chosen Nueva Lengua. It was very fruitful and productive for me and I even dare to say that I felt at home, having only Spanish to remind me otherwise.
