On Saturday, after an afternoon partying in Cartagena, we set out for the Totumo Volcano.

As its name suggests it is a volcano, but don't think about fire, lava and ash. However, the heat was almost the same as in a normal volcano!

From the top of the volcano, looking inwards, you can see a natural mud pit. With a wooden ladder you get there, and the sensation as soon as you touch the mud is very rare!

Once you manage to submerge yourself completely, the sensation will be very strange because, although there is no point to touch it (the volcano is more than 1.000 meters deep!), it is impossible to drown or sink!

Once you are completely submerged in the mud, you can relax with a fantastic massage.

And once the bath is finished, these ladies wash you.

Once upon a time there was a lake where you could get wet immediately after the mud bath. Unfortunately, today this lake is just a large piece of land. The little rain and the El Niño phenomenon have completely dried up the lake.

And once all the mud has been removed, you will end up with very smooth skin!

In fact, there are many nutrients in the mud of the Totumo Volcano: silica, magnesium, calcium, sulfur, iron, phosphate. And there are no man-made chemicals added.

Also, the volcano is completely natural, only the wooden stairs have been added by man!
