On the afternoon of December 22, students from Indonesia, Germany, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago, the United States, and Canada from Nueva Lengua – Bogota They spread their table offering lunch and gifts to senior citizens, in a halfway house called Casa de la Misericordia: Padre Pío's dining room, in the center of Bogotá.

As usual, monthly some students of Nueva Lengua perform a volunteer in Nueva Lengua, sharing a lunch with the elderly population. This time, it could not be an exception, we shared Christmas with them. Apart from enjoying a delicious lunch, the School Nueva LenguaTogether with the students, we donate gifts to celebrate this important tradition. Simon Weder, student of Nueva Lengua, and who participated in this activity stated: “It was an unforgettable experience. Seeing the happy grandparents sharing with us left me with a beautiful memory.”

Practicing Spanish is also a good exercise in this activity, since the grandparents are ready to listen and share their experiences. According to Valentin Hertoghe, student in course: “practicing with them is a lot of fun. You not only practice Spanish, you also laugh and learn from their words”.

This is how we celebrate our Christmas 2022, with great memories between laughter, hugs, gifts and most importantly: sharing and extending our table to everyone.
