“I am Roger Rogers,” he begins with a humble smile, “and I am a missionary and pastor in Colombia.” Roger's initial encounter with Colombia was serendipitous, prompted by a mission trip with his church in February. Despite having no prior plans to visit, the lure of Colombia captured his heart, prompting him to return just a few months later, in August.

A call to service

Roger's mission in Colombia transcends simple visits; is a commitment to fostering hope and compassion in often forgotten communities. From the bustling streets of Bogotá to the remote corners of the El Codito neighborhood, and the rural sector of the municipality of Soacha, Roger and his fellow church members are dedicated to a variety of relief efforts, ranging from providing essential resources to offering support spiritual through prayer, Bible study and always warm and comforting company.

Social Support and Volunteering in poor areas of Colombia

During his volunteer days, Roger and the other members of his church carried out concrete actions to improve the quality of life of communities in need. These initiatives included the donation of glasses for children, providing better vision for those in need, as well as the distribution of food to ensure that families' basic needs were met.
