Among the many qualities that make the school Nueva Lengua the best place to learn Spanish, one of the most notable is its varied offering of locations around the country. Being in a course with Nueva Lengua, our students have the opportunity to take their classes at any of our schools, located in four incredible cities in Colombia: Bogotá, Cartagena, Medellín and Ibagué.

Monika Bujotzek, a retired woman born in Germany but residing in Alaska, United States, has decided to spend some time in South America with the firm intention of learning Spanish and exploring Colombia and its main tourist destinations during her visit. Her journey has become a vibrant testimony of the cultural, historical and natural wealth that our school and Colombia have to offer.

His journey began in the impressive capital, Bogotá, where the majesty of the Monserrate hill and the charm of the walking tour through the historic center in La Candelaria marked the beginning of his immersion in the language and culture. She thoroughly enjoyed these experiences, but she is sure that she wants to return to the city and take these tours now that her command of Spanish will allow her to make the most of her experience.

Later, in Medellín, Comuna 13 was presented as a masterpiece of urban art and social improvement by a community historically devastated by violence. However, Monika says that the place that moved her the most was not this currently popular destination but Commune 1. Here, she actively participated in incredible social work with the Caminos Foundation, along with the rest of the school students and our staff in the city, mixing what she called “the authentic Medellín” with the opportunity to apply her Spanish in a challenging and exciting social context.

After Medellín, Monika arrived at her third stop in the country: Ibagué, the musical capital of Colombia. With her classes and an unforgettable horseback ride through the El Guamal waterfall, this city represented for her the very essence of Colombia, both in its joy and warmth and in its natural and climatic spectacularity. This horseback riding activity through the El Guamal waterfall has been, according to her, the best experience of her entire trip through Latin America, which, in addition, not only allowed her to experience first-hand the natural beauty of the country, but also allowed you to connect with local hospitality and apply your language skills at all times.

Finally, she arrived in Cartagena to welcome the new year, immersed in the historical and architectural beauty of the city. The celebration in Cartagena, with its traditions and vibrant Caribbean atmosphere, has left an indelible mark on her heart, thus completing her extraordinary journey through the four locations of the Spanish school Nueva Lengua In colombia.

This testimony not only highlights the academic excellence of our school, but also Colombia's ability to offer enriching and authentic experiences that go beyond learning Spanish, connecting students with the true essence of this fascinating country.

The geographical diversity of our campuses allows students to immerse themselves in the richness of Colombia from different perspectives.

Bogotá, the vibrant capital, offers a unique blend of history, culture and modernity. Students can explore the treasures of the past in La Candelaria, while immersing themselves in the contemporary vitality of the city.

In Medellín, Comuna 13 stands out as a testimony of resilience and transformation. Street art tells the story of a community that has overcome challenges, offering students a unique lesson in hope and perseverance. Commune 1, where Monika participated in social work, offers an authentic glimpse into the local reality, allowing students to contribute directly to the community.

Ibagué, with its serenity and natural beauty, provides an idyllic setting for cultural and linguistic immersion. The horseback ride through El Guamal waterfall is not only a visually stunning experience, but also an opportunity to interact with the local community, enriching Monika's understanding of Colombian culture.

Cartagena, with its historical charm and festive Caribbean atmosphere, closes the trip with an explosion of color and joy, fusing Colombian tradition with the architectural beauty of Cartagena.

Monika's testimony highlights not only the academic quality of Nueva Lengua, but also the ability of our program to offer students an authentic connection with the cultural, historical and natural diversity of Colombia. His journey exemplifies how learning Spanish can go beyond the classroom, becoming an adventure that transforms lives and creates lasting memories. At each location, Monika discovered not only new words and expressions, but also the richness of a country that welcomes those who wish to explore and learn from it.

Thank you, Monika, for opening the doors of your heart to us and for allowing us to learn much more about Colombia and Spanish with you!
