In Colombia, political parties, unions, peasants, indigenous people, students, unions and victims of the conflict have taken to the streets of various cities this Tuesday, April 9, to express their support for the Peace talks with the FARC.
Colombia marches for peace! There are more of us who want peace! We believe in dialogue, forgiveness and reconciliation!
The events began in the Plaza de los Caídos, in western Bogotá. There a military parade was made to pay tribute to the soldiers and policemen who have offered their lives and have been victims of terrorism. This event was attended by the President, the Minister of Defense, Juan Carlos Pinzón, and the military and police high command. Then the president joined the march.
The mobilizations in Bogotá began at 9 in the morning from 7 different points in the capital. Although several mayors and governors called on citizens to take to the streets, the march had its greatest expression in Bogotá, where protesters from all over the country began to arrive on Monday.
