I spent two months in Language School Nueva Lengua in Bogota in mid 2014. I started knowing only a few words of Spanish, and finished being able to have a decent conversation with my many new Colombian friends.

The teachers are excellent, always encouraging, and all so passionate about teaching, which is evident in their classes. But it is not only the 3 hours of daily classes which made me enjoy my time in Bogota so much. Nueva Lengua also offers a range of activities in the afternoons, 3 or 4 days a week. These include trips into the local mountains, salsa classes (my personal favourite), bike tours of the centre, and much more. These were a great opportunity to get to know the other students and teachers, and of course to practice Spanish! Bogota is an amazing city, with so much to offer, I strongly encourage you to spend some time at Nueva Lengua and immerse yourself in the incredible culture that is Colombia.
