In the field of teaching a second language, technology has become a powerful pedagogical tool. In the context of Spanish for foreigners, the integration of audiovisual resources in the Spanish class is an excellent way to enrich the learning experience and improve students' listening, visual and oral comprehension.

Audiovisual support resources in ELE (Spanish as a foreign language) classes can include videos, movies, audio recordings, podcasts, images, slideshows, concept maps, among many others. Some of the many benefits of using audiovisual resources in Spanish classes are:

1. Oral and listening comprehension

Audiovisual resources offer students the opportunity to listen and understand the language in real situations. They can listen to native speakers from different regional contexts and become familiar with the rhythm, intonation, and pronunciation of variations of Spanish, which is important for establishing conversations with other people. For this you can use podcasts, audios of real conversations, songs and fragments of films according to the level of the students.

2. Expansion of vocabulary

Through interactive games and allusive images, students can discover new words with colored animations, for this they can use online platforms such as WordWall that offer activities that integrate different skills.

3. Reinforcement of grammar and linguistic structures

By using slide shows you can go deeper and explain grammatical topics with colors, figures and animated images, thus motivating students more and not just fixing their attention on the board.

4. Visual stimulation

The images help students to understand the Colombian context and culture, it also motivates them to get to know our gastronomy and travel around the country. They can see landscapes, monuments, customs and cultural aspects that allow them to have a more complete vision of our country.

5 Motivation

These resources can awaken and maintain motivation during classes. Students have the opportunity to learn in a more dynamic and entertaining way, which can increase their interest and commitment to the language.

6. Repeat and pause

When allusive audio, images or videos are used, teachers have the opportunity to re-project the material at any time or at the pace of the group, this is a novelty for the class because the content is not lost and it adapts to the learning style. likewise, the teacher goes beyond traditional teaching based solely on the transmission of content.

7. Variety of content

Audiovisual resources offer a wide range of thematic content, allowing students to choose materials that suit their interests and needs. They can explore topics related to music, cinema, history, literature, gastronomy and many other aspects of Colombian culture, which enriches their learning experience.

8. Audiovisual resources in ELE classes

In short, to make the most of audiovisual resources, teachers can select materials that are relevant to students and according to each level.

At the most basic levels, the use of more visual materials is recommended, while at intermediate or advanced levels, consistent use of videos can be made, such as movie clips and podcasts with more cultural and social themes.

It is important to foster the interaction and participation of the students, encouraging them to ask questions, express opinions and practice oral production using the audiovisual content as a starting point.
