Did your parents tell you stories of a wonderful and unknown country at the same time? Did they tell you that your grandparents were from a very happy land, with a variety of climates and regions? Did they ever speak to you in a language other than the one you knew and didn't understand much, or just nothing? Well, well. You are a lucky person to be able to be part of a different culture than yours.

Many of the people who have roots in other countries different from the one they were born with, they want to know their place of origin. They are people who have Mexican, Argentine, Colombian, Peruvian, etc. parents or grandparents; and that is when they decide to come to Latin America to know, recognize and live a new experience that brings them closer to their own history.

For example, we have the case of Jonathan Male, a young man Colombian-Danish that he grew up in northern Europe and that his maternal family is Colombian. Jonathan had the opportunity to speak with his family and learn a new language (although familiar to him), and to live new cultural experiences that led him to rediscover a part of his being; in Colombia he was looking for his roots, and he found them. With this trip, he was also able to make new friends and learn the traditions of his country.

And if part of your origin is not in Colombia, why come here? Colombia is a country with a great geographical, gastronomic, linguistic and cultural diversity. In it you can find from the coldest place to the warmest, from the friche (typical dish of the department of La Guajira based on goat) to the Cuy (typical dish of the department of Nariño), from an "Aha ..." to a "Hey, Hail Mary, then!", And from a kiss on the cheek to a handshake.

Jonathan He discovered that in Colombia there are not only his roots but also a second home where everyone is welcome, no matter where they come from. On Nueva Lengua, We have a place for you. If you have relatives who They speak Spanish and you want to communicate with them, we will help you achieve that goal by learning Spanish.
