My name is Marloes van Hemert, born and raised in The Netherlands but now living in Curaçao, a small Caribbean island in front of the coast of Venezuela and part of the Dutch Kingdom.

The three reasons for me to really want to win this course are:

1. I would like to be able to communicate with my family in law better. They are from Venezuela/Colombia. My boyfriend speaks Dutch fluently. Now it is my turn to learn Spanish 😊
2. I visited Medellin this summer and I completely fell in love with the city 😍 (and Guatapé, Salento, Cali, Cartagena, Parque Tayrona and Yarumal, which we also visited in Colombia)
3. The Nueva Lengua School also provides the opportunity to get introduced to the Colombian culture and discovering Medellin, which makes the course even more appealing! My boyfriend will be really happy when I will learn to cook Colombian meals 😉
