I spent three weeks in class at Nueva Lengua. I chose Cartagena because it is a historic city with a reputation for being beautiful and safe. I found Nueva Lengua online by searching reviews of different schools and I liked that NL offers activities as well as classes. I also opted to live with a host family during my stay which the school arranged for me.
I had a great experience with the school and would highly recommend it to anyone considering Spanish immersion schools in Cartagena. The school is well organized and staffed with friendly helpful people. From my first day the teachers and staff were excited to meet me and help me plan things to do during my stay. my host family was very kind to me and the house was very comfortable.
Classes are engaging and fun. I learned much more in three weeks here than I could have anticipated. It also helps that the culture in Cartagena is so friendly and welcoming to travelers. You can go anywhere and meet Colombians who are happy to speak with you in Spanish and encourage you to keep learning. I had a lovely time here and am sad to leave Nueva Lengua!
