Coming from Europe, the most natural place where everybody would think to go to study spanish is obviously Spain. It’s close, it’s cheaper to get there, and the castellano spanish is spoken and understood in all the world.

Even though I love Spain, I decided to take a long haul flight to Bogotà and adventure myself in the most scary and rewarding adventure of my life: Study Spanish in Colombia!

But why? My friends and family kept asking me.

Why? I can’t give you just a single reason, because you should come and see it with your own eyes how amazing it is to study spanish in Colombia. But I can enlighten you…

Clear accent. You might be right when you think that spanish castellano is spoken and understood in all the world, but nothing like a colombian accent is so clear to undestand. And be careful, you might end up falling in love with this accent!

Lovely people. Being a solo female traveler I was little bit scared to adventour myself so far from my home country… What if I don’t like it? What if I don’t make friends? What if people are bad? What if what you hear in the news is true…? Do you want to know what I found?

Well, it was quite challenging to find myself alone, as I found a ton of new friends and amazing colombian people willing to help me, in a genuine and lovely way. I couldn’t be luckier I think!

And all the stories you hear in the news? …just a ton of stereotypes and a lot of history, that is not part of this country anymore!

Amazing country. From the Andes in Bogotá, to the Caribbean sea of the Tayrona National Park. From the vibrant life of Bogotà and Medellin to the relaxing lifestyle of the colonial city of Cartagena. Mountains, sea side, incontaminated beaches, deserts. Colombia is like many different countries in just one place. But careful, you might end up wanting to spend too much time in the country!

A lot of activities and sports to do. You will have the chance to windsurf in the caribbean sea or hike a mountain, do trekkings surrounded by amazing landscapes and go rafting in adventurous rivers. I can assure you that you will never get bored of it!

You can learn to dance. There is no better place than Colombia to learn to move your hips! Salsa, bachata, merengue, vallenato, cumbia are just few of the rythms that you can enjoy in here!

And you can also learn to cook. Colombian cuisine is so different and variegated in the whole country. Come with an empty stomach because you will have a lot of choices!

You will find amazing friends. On Nueva Lengua you will never feel alone! You will have the chance to meet a lot of nice people from all around the world and spend nice time with them.

And if you like you can be helpful for the community and do volunteer jobs.. There is always need of some help here in Colombia. And in the spanish school Nueva Lengua you can combine the study of spanish in the morning with volunteer jobs in the afternoon.

and what about the teachers?
This people are just amazing!
So, what are you expeting to book your spanish course in Colombia?
