David is a 32-year-old French student who is currently at school Nueva Lengua in Bogota Colombia. He is here for a month-long stay in total, and is currently in his third week. This school, specialized for travelers who want to learn Spanish, has been the perfect place for him, as he wants to learn the language for his first solo trip through South America.

His journey of exploration through Latin America has been fascinating. He has visited Peru, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Ecuador and, finally, Colombia. One of the most important things for David is volunteering. He not only looks for them in Colombia, but in all the places in Latin America where he is. He would like to work in an animal rescue center, either in the jungle or in marine environments. This passion for nature and animals is something he has had since he was very little. For him, it's a way to leave a mark on the places he's visited and give back to local communities.

David has come to learn Spanish in Latin America because he believes that mastering the language is the key to making the most of his experience in the region. Although he claims that speaking English is easy in the world and in France, he considers Spanish to be the real challenge. This is his number one priority. He believes that learning the language will allow him to not only relate to others, but also understand a new view of the world through the natives. He doesn't want to just be a “clumsy speaker or student.”

Your experience in Bogotá has been very different from life in Paris. The functionality of the city, such as traffic and shops, as well as more relaxed activities such as going for a beer, have been very interesting to him. Living in a big city in Latin America has given you the opportunity to experience the local culture in a unique way. Furthermore, he considers that coming to this region is a real way to get to know a place and demystify the misperceptions that may be had from outside.

In addition to his time at school, David has participated in various activities in Bogotá. He has found that every day is very different and that there are a wide variety of options for exploring the city. In addition, the ease of moving from the apartment to the school using public transportation has made his stay even more pleasant.

David plans to travel more around Colombia in the future and intends to volunteer at a wildlife care center. Although he has no definitive plans, he has several contacts in the region that could help him achieve his goal. He believes that this experience would be a meaningful way to contribute and leave his mark on the country.

His message to those considering visiting Colombia or Latin America is clear: the reality is very different from what is shown in the media. He feels safe and welcomed in Bogotá, and encourages others to come and experience the warmth and cultural diversity of the region.
