 Canoeing (Rafting)

Once a month, after Spanish classes with our students, we hold a gastronomic show in which each of the students prepares a typical dish from their country, thus managing to have a good time with friends and cultural exchange.

The Eastern Plains are a region with incredible landscapes and unique traditions, such as the typical llanero barbecue, accompanied by the traditional dance known as “joropo”.

Football night at El Campín stadium

In Colombia we feel a great passion for soccer. For this reason, we take our students to enjoy matches at the Nemesio Camacho “El Campín” Stadium, in the city of Bogotá. Boleros are romantic songs that liven up social gatherings. On Nueva Lengua we show our students the different musical traditions, including a sample of boleros.

Visit to the enchanted lagoon of Guatavita

Hot springs

Very close to Bogotá there is an ideal place of relaxation to enjoy nature and a pleasant bath in hot springs. These warm and natural waters have healing properties. Join us and live this unique experience with us.

Choachí waterfalls

An exclusive landscape of the páramos, accompanied by a beautiful green and a cloud forest, will lead us through a canyon to a magical place surrounded by nature and one of the highest waterfalls in the country. This is a walk of approximately 2 hours. We will also share a snack in the house of some peasants from the region, who will give us a small sample of the typical food of this area of ​​the country.

Tejo

This is a very typical Colombian sport and a clear example of popular culture. This game consists of introducing a steel disc inside a metallic circle that has small explosives around it (called "wicks"). The idea of ​​the game is to be organized by teams, and the one that manages to explode the largest number of fuses is the winner. It is very common to accompany this game with a cold and delicious beer.

 

In this activity you can bring out the singer in you! Shakira? Juanes? Take the risk of singing a song in Spanish. If you don't know what the song that will make you famous could be, don't worry, because there is an extensive repertoire of songs of all genres. As culture and language always go hand in hand, special celebrations also take place in Nueva lengua, and you will be an important part of each of them: Language Day, Love and Friendship Day, Christmas, New Year, Halloween, among others.

Cinema Forum

Come to the cinema forum, an activity in which you will be able to perceive reality from various fields and get closer to cultural diversity. In addition, you will be able to express your opinion in a guided discussion, a panel of questions, among others.

Social work

If you are interested in serving the local community and helping those most in need, you can carry out work in direct contact with less favored groups. Helping in a community soup kitchen is a job we do once a month. We invite all students to participate in this beautiful work.

Night support for homeless people

We go out to bring homeless people a hot drink and bread at night, but more importantly a hug, a conversation and to recognize the dignity of these people in difficult living conditions caused by extreme poverty, addictions, mental problems and other situations.

Once a month we support a soup kitchen that serves lunch to elderly people living in poverty. More important than preparing a lunch is to bring company, joy and a pleasant time to these people who also many live alone.

Hot land tour (Ibagué and Tolima)

We leave from Bogotá in a typical plan that is to go to Tierra Caliente for the weekend, as Colombia has all the thermal floors, at any time of the year we can transport ourselves from Bogotá for a couple of hours and be in a hot climate full of nature and adventure. . One of the most requested tours is to Ibagué and its surroundings.

Visit to Monserrate

An icon of the city and a mandatory visit point is the Monserrate hill. Since 1620, this is a place of pilgrimage and admiration for the beauty of the Sabana de Bogotá. The Sanctuary of the Fallen Lord of Monserrate, in addition to the sanctuary, is famous for the view of the city that is incredible; it is possible to go up on foot or by cable car and there is one of the best restaurants in the city.
