Cultural activities in Panama City


The capital city of Panama has much to offer. Here are some of the activities we organize for our students:


Tour at Visitors Center Miraflores Locks (Panama Canal)

Observe how dramatically the enormous ships enter to the locks and start the amazing process to cross, as well as know more about the history of this modern engineering
marvel .


Trip to Taboga Island

Enjoy a pleasant boat trip, and in 45 minutes you will come to this beautiful island where you can swim in crystal waters and taste the fresh seafood served in the cozy town.



Walk at the Coastal Belt


You can enjoy a walk along the coastal strip which lies just a few blocks from our headquarters. You'll be surrounded by a really nice sea breeze, beautiful buildings, green areas, play grounds, mini soccer courts, mini basketball courts and more.



Visit to Mi Pueblito and Ancon Hill

 

Excellent! two activities in one ... will visit the Mi Pueblito tourist complex, which is a place where three different cultures are showed: afro-caribbean, peasant and indigenous, and from there you will be ready to leave for a walk on paved road to the top of Cerro Ancon, the highest point in the city.



Excursion to Metropolitan Natural Park

Live the adventure inmerse in the Metropolitan Natural Park, which is the only protected area in Central America located within the boundaries of a metropolitan city. In this park you can listen and watch different types of birds and other species.

 


Excursion to Summit Municipal Park


In the Summit Municipal Park, you will be impressed to see so many varieties of exotic plants and look at a big number of wild animals that belongs to our jungles.


Tour to Casco Antiguo

You cannot leave Panama without knowing the Casco Antiguo. Historical complex recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage. Its narrow streets made of bricks and colonial buildings with beautiful balconies make an architectural beauty, culture and history are part of this tour.



Cycling on the Amador Causeway

In the Amador Causeway you will take a bicycle with which enjoy several things: the sea breeze, large ships entering or leaving the Canal, seafood, a beautiful view of the city and an unforgettable environment.

Visit to Old Panama

Old Panama, known as the name given to the first European settlement on the Pacific coast of America. This place count with a historical museum and several ruins that belonged to the ancient city. Its history talk about pirates, battles, treasures and more.


Jogging at the Omar Park

You can take a tour along the perimeter of the Omar Park, about 5 km. It is the most visited country by its natural beauty and recreational space in the city of Panama.

 


Visit the Anthropological Museum Reina Torres de Araúz

In this museum you will see more than 15 thousand pieces of gold, ceramic, lithic and ethnographic pieces which belonged to different pre-columbian cultures who lived in our territory before the arriving of Spaniards.


Visit to Embera Drua indigenous community

Share their culture, music, dances and crafts in the midst of an incredible diversity of birds, vegetation and forest life that will make this experience unforgettable.All this in one day and just one hour from Panama City!

Special Celebrations

As always language and culture go hand in hand, the special celebrations in Nueva Lengua always has an important place and you will be an important part in each of them: Language Day, San Valentine’s Day, Christmas, New Year, country holidays, among others.


Social Work


If you are interested in serving the local community and help those with needs, you can make direct contact work with the underprivileged. Nueva Lengua Panamá invite you to participate on this good will activities.





Important: Nueva Lengua organizes plans and accompanies students on all cultural activities. Personal expenses such as entrance tickets, transportation and meals are the responsibility of each student, activities change every week at each school.
